SENIOR PASTOR CHERYL SKELTON
Senior Pastor Cheryl has been walking in the call of pastor of Power House of Love and Faith since Oct. 3rd, 2010. The Lord has entrusted her to shepherd the flock of this ministry in that of preaching His Word, teaching His Word, leading by example, and guiding through Holy Spirit. After the departure of our late Founder/Pastor/Overseer Seles Smith, the Lord assigned Senior Pastor Cheryl to take the ministry to the next level. Under her tutelage by the power of Holy Spirit, the ministry is growing to deeper depths, higher heights, and new realms of the Spirit. Pastor Cheryl believes the tool that will transform the world is preaching the unadulterated word of truth without compromise. Her personal motto is “God I’m Your instrument and whatever sound You want to make through me, You’re welcomed to play me.” Her passion is to continually seek the Lord for wisdom and direction for the ministry. Her walk as a Christian began at the age of 12. She obtained membership at Revivals For Jesus Church under the leadership of Bishop Charles E. Johnson. Her journey began seeking God’s direction, searching God’s plan for His purpose for her life. After serving at Revivals For Jesus Church for approximately seven years, she move her membership to Revivals For Jesus Light House under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Dorothy Batts where she served in the capacity of usher and choir member. In May of 1990 the Lord lead her mother (the late Overseer Seles Smith) to
establish the ministry of Power House of Love and Faith. Under the direction of Holy Spirit, Pastor Cheryl joined her mother to help increase the ministry by taking on the responsibility of assistant secretary, member of the board of directors, usher, choir member, Vacation Bible School director, choir member, and praise & worship leader. Three years later she accepted the call to minister the Word of God; and two years after the call was ordained as a minister in 1995. After the passing of her mother (Founder/Pastor and Overseer of Power house) in 2010, Pastor Cheryl accepted the assignment as Senior Pastor. Her dedication to the ministry and the assignment of God has lead her to relinquish her secular job as an educator for Cumberland County Schools to devote her life to full time ministry. Upon entering full time ministry, she attended Carolina Bible College taking a few courses to further her studies of the Bible. God has truly manifested Himself to be the orchestrator of her life. God’s strength has taken her to a place where Holy Spirit is her complete source of direction. Pastor Cheryl has passion and compassion to help God’s people understand the importance of seeking and pursuing God’s purpose and plan for their life. She has a heart to compel those that are lost in a world of sin. She is the anointed wife of Pastor Don Skelton. God ordained this union on June 22, 1996 and caused an explosion of ministry in the joining of their hearts. Together they are allowing God to lead them into new realms of the Spirit to take the ministry to the next level.
